- I Hate Getting Up Early -Well I promised an update after classes started, so here you go. So far classes seem pretty good. Latin seems like it's going to be pretty hard, apparently there's a lot more grammer than in english, but so far it's really interesting. And the teacher's cute, so that always helps. Math is math, although it's going to be a lot different than my math class at UC. This one is all about using graphing calculators and stuff, and in my other class we weren't allowed to use calculators at all. And my english class, which isn't really an english class, is all about humor and joking. It's a writing class called "The US Folk Experience", and the teacher is a Folklorist. She wanted to make the class interesting, so she made the theme for the quarter "Joking Matters". So we're going to have some readings from other folklorists about humor and stuff, and then do a project for the end of the quarter. We spent most of the whole first class talking about our favorite TV shows and joking around. She's one of those teachers who's middle aged but think they're still a college student, and she was going on with some of the students about what next season will be like on "The OC" and "Laguna Beach". She had never even heard of Futurama though, so she wants me to tape a few episodes for her. Should be an interesting class.
Riding the bus is pretty nice, it makes getting to school much less complicated when you don't have to park and walk a long way. You just get on, sit there and listen to music, and it drops you off on campus. Only bad thing is that it's about a 35 minute ride, but I've got my iPod, so it's not that bad. Monday and Wednesdays I have 2 breaks between classes, which makes the day much longer than it needs to be. There's a building with a whole bunch of comfy chairs and couches though, so I've been hanging out there reading. And it's got wireless access, so I'll probably start taking my computer to school Mondays and Wednesdays to kill some extra time.
I ran into Matt (aka Melfi) the other day on campus, and talked to him for a couple minutes. I was surprised, considering the number of students there, to see someone I know the first week. Well anyways... I think that's about all for now. I hope you all have a nice weekend, and I'll be back later. In the meantime, check out the new Bands of the Moment, you can download a whole New Amsterdams album free at their site. Si vales, valeo.
um, have you heard the new Strokes Album yet? If so, and if you have it, will you make me a copy?
Its funny that you ran into Melfi already... I wont be surprised if you keep running into a shit load of people you knew (that you despised or did not, yet will still be nice to you) there over the next few years that you did not even dream of running into up there... it happened to me a shit load of times... most of the moments were A-A-AWKARD! Just like at OU... it is still so close that everybody went there...
Yeah I was hoping that I don't run into anybody I know from high school, I know a lot of people ended up at OSU. But most people from my year should be graduated by now, only the losers like me are still in college at 24... or if they are they're in grad school or something..
ah yes... didn't think of that... right... I always forget that we're much older now... just like today, when I went back to the campus to fix a transcript prob. I was having and for some reason, though it was only a few weeks ago that I was still on campus, that I felt out of place... *sigh* I felt old... everyone who was out in the cold weather, walking around campus, were soooooo young... they all looked 18 and 19... teenie-boppers for christ's sake...
