The Boring World of Goob

  - What a horrible horrible day -

Yes I'm complaining about the weather again.... get over it. It's cold as fuck and windy. I don't mind cold at all, unless it's windy. Then I hate it with a passion. Makes me want to drop everything and go live in the tropics on a banana plantation or something. It doesn't help that the Steelers won the Superbowl and I'm stuck here at school all day. Ah well. Will be over soon and I will be safe once more back in my little apartment with my cat.

Aw, poor Goob! -grin-
It's freezing and windy here too if that's any consolation...brrrrrr (shivers)

I'm sure it's windy and cold in a lot of places right now... but unfortunately no, it doesn't really make me feel any better about it being cold here.

I just saw a robin before my last class, isn't that supposed to mean it's spring or something?

'Fraid not. Robins are a winter bird. Over here they're associated with Christmas.
Now - a lark, sparrow, or thrush, that would be a sign of spring...God, I can't believe I know this stuff...how sad am I?

Hmmm.... I guess it's different for you guys. Sparrows are always around here... tons of em. But Robins go away in the winter. They eat bugs and worms and stuff, but the ground is usually frozen here for most of the winter, so they go somewhere nicer and come back in the spring usually.

Sorry, I had to look it up. American robins are migratory and supposedly come back in the spring. Oh and they are a type of thrush, by the way.

Wow, I didn't even know that. Over here, they're a winter bird. But then I think our weather is much more temperate than yours - I'm moaning about it being about 7/8C...must be about 50-odd Farenheit I think.
We have a robin in our garden; he's lived here for years. He's a great big, fat thing with a massive red patch and we love him to bits -grin-

Just checked that site...my God, your Robins look nothing like ours!
I'll put a pic of an English robin on my page; they're completely different!

They're two completely different types of birds... they just ended up with the same name because the first settlers here were dumb apparently.

ah... I see now the connection...
I saw the bird on abs page and scratched my head...
their robins have blue feathers, and are definitely much prettier than ours...

suck it up wussy... not like you have to be outside for any long amount of time... 'sides it warmed up to about 40-45 right now...
And the sun is out without a cloud in the sky... but that's right, you live in Columbus now don'cha...
